Welcome to the Metro Building Inspectors Association of Greater Grand Rapids
Our association is a Chapter of the International Code Council (ICC). We represent building enforcement code officials and associated members who have a common interest in building codes. Our aim is to provide our members with continuing education programs in the field of building codes and their enforcement for the betterment of the people in Western Michigan.
About Metro Building Inspectors Association of Greater Grand Rapids Chapter
The Metro Building Inspectors Association has served the greater Grand Rapids area since 1963. The first meeting was held on August 29, 1963, with Robert Boelens, City of Grand Rapids Director of Inspections, serving as our first president. The association was known at that time as Inspectional Services Conference of Western Michigan. Our membership consists primarily of building code enforcement officials and associates having a common interest in our association’s purposes. We have over 100 members who currently represent jurisdictions south of Cadillac, north of Kalamazoo, and from the middle of the State to Lake Michigan.
The primary purpose of the association is to provide to its members continuing education programs in the field of building code and their enforcement for the betterment of the people in the area served by the members of this organization.
